Rangineers STEM Program for 4th & 5th Graders

Ranch View continues to provide students with opportunities to develop skills related to science, technology, engineering and math.  Through our before-school STEM program, select 4th and 5th grade students will be entered into a lottery drawing for a spot on the Robotics team. This team experience allows students to work collaboratively to produce a LEGO robot which will eventually participate in a cross-school competition. Students will be involved in the FIRST® LEGO® League challenge.  This program introduces young people, (grades 4-8), to the fun and excitement of science and technology. Teams, composed of up to 10 students will be coached by Ranch View staff as they work together to program an autonomous robot (using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot set) to score points on a thematic playing surface and create innovative solutions to a problem.
