Fourth and fifth grade students may serve as Ranch View Safety Patrols. These students have the important task of helping their peers and families safely cross the many crosswalks outside of the building. There is both AM and PM safety patrol and students have the option to serve during one time slot. Students are required to participate every school day, weather permitting.

Usually, Safety Patrols are students who walk to school. Students who are bus riders, however, may serve as safety patrols if they have an alternate means of transportation on a daily basis.

If a student is interested in serving as a Ranch View School Safety Patrol, a signed permission form and a signed safety patrol pledge needs to be returned to school. An organizational meeting is held during the week before the start of the school year. Students who can't attend that meeting have an opportunity to begin after the school year is under way.
